High Buoyancy Floating Planters

Expanding the Benefits of Floating Gardens Upwards
Biomatrix high buoyancy floating planters have a central planting basket designed to receive larger plantings, such as shrubs and small trees. The increased planting elevation provides an ideal screening for softening sheet pile walls, dividing houseboats or moorings and increasing ecological benefit and waterscape beauty.
Plant species can be selected to add winter colour and enhance the ecological benefit of the floating ecosystem. Flowers and berries provide feeding grounds for birds, bees and butterflies.
The module has a buoyancy of over 250 kilos, which can support a planting typically of 2-3 metres in height, depending on how the module is configured and anchored. The planting basket can take up to 75 litres of soil and is supported underneath by internal structural floats. Moisture is conducted into the bottom of the basket, so the planting basket requires no watering, but is also not saturated, allowing a wide range of species to be accommodated with a particular suitability for moisture-loving species.
