We are delighted to announce that we participated in the Liveability Shark Tank at the Sydney Water Innovation Festival 2021 and won the people’s choice award! Our international technical manager Nick Schreiner presented a video about Floating Ecosystems and the Living Water Cities vision.

In Australia, we are partnered with WET Systems a leader in wetland and ecologically based treatment solutions.  We are excited about the potential to work together on large-scale water restoration and Floating Ecosystem projects. Dr. Tom Headley of WET Systems is a key leader in this field and designed the world’s largest industrial constructed wetland system, consisting of >1200 ha of surface flow wetlands and ponds for managing 175,000 m3/d of oilfield wastewater in the desert of Oman.

Sydney Water’s Innovation Festival was hosted in collaboration with Northumbrian Water’s Innovation Festival sharing solutions from around the world. The crowd at the Festival included senior managers from Sydney Water, City Councils, NSW Government, Academic Institutions, energy, water and cross-sector stakeholders, and members of the general public. We are grateful that so many people voted for the Living Water Cities vision, it is an honour to win the people’s choice award and to feel the support and encouragement that this brings.
